Crispy pizzelle with chocolate chips dipped in more chocolate? Yes, please! This easy recipe is perfect for desserts, gifts, or late-night snacking.

Crispy, chocolatey, and just the right amount of fancy—dipped chocolate chip pizzelle are the kind of treat that feels special but is surprisingly easy to make.
With a light, crispy texture, melty chocolate chips, and a rich chocolate dip, these cookies are guaranteed to disappear fast.
I originally shared this recipe on National Cookie Day, December 4th.
But they are so delicious that they should be made all year, so I thought it was the perfect time to share them with you again!

Ingredients
Visit the Recipe Card below for all measurements.
- Eggs: Eggs add liquid to the batter for a smooth consistency and hold all ingredients together.
- Sugar: Sugar sweetens the batter and balances out other ingredients like flour and eggs.
- Vanilla Extract: Vanilla adds a warm, sweet flavor and makes them smell amazing!
- Butter: Butter gives pizzelle a slightly creamy taste and creates a crisp and delicate texture.
- Flour: The amount of flour affects how crisp the pizzelle turns out. More flour can make them firmer, while less flour can result in a softer texture.
- Baking Powder: The slight rise of Baking Powder helps the batter spread evenly in the pizzelle iron, preventing overly dense or uneven cookies.
- Mini Chocolate Chips: Mini chips spread more evenly in the batter, ensuring each pizzella gets some chocolate.
- Dipping Chocolate: Depending on the type of chocolate (dark, milk, or white), it can balance or enhance the sweetness of the pizzelle.
- Chopped Nuts: Nuts add a slight crunch, balancing the crispiness of the pizzelle. Use your favorite variety, I used walnuts.

Freezing Pizzelle
Yes, pizzelle cookies can be stored in the freezer.
While it won’t be as crisp as a freshly baked pizzella, it will still be delicious!
Arrange the cooled cookies, single layer, on a baking sheet, cover, and freeze overnight.
Move the pizzelle to a freezer-safe airtight container and freeze them for up to 3 months.
Thaw at room temperature.
